Great privilege to lead the Society of Oncologic Imaging India (SOII) at a time when cancer care in our nation is undergoing significant transformation. SOII continues to serve as a unifying platform for professionals dedicated to strengthening the role of imaging in comprehensive oncology care. Our priority is to cultivate a progressive ecosystem that encourages continuous learning, nurtures leadership, and supports meaningful innovation in oncologic imaging practice. As we broaden our academic programs, collaborations, and outreach initiatives, SOII remains deeply committed to promoting quality, ethical standards, and patient-centered excellence. Together, we will advance the field of oncologic imaging and contribute to better cancer outcomes across India.
Dr. Sudhir Kale
General Secretary (SOII)
Greetings to all esteemed seniors, colleagues and members of SOII
Great honour to serve as the General Secretary of the Society of Oncologic Imaging India (SOII). SOII serves as a national platform uniting radiologists, oncologists, and imaging professionals to enhance early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment planning in oncology. Our vision is to promote high-quality oncologic imaging practice, support research, and facilitate knowledge exchange through conferences, webinars, and fellowships. Emerging technologies such as cutting-edge cross-sectional imaging, AI, radiomics, and molecular imaging are transforming the way oncoradiologists detect, characterize, and monitor cancers, enabling more precise and impactful patient care. Together, we aim to elevate cancer imaging practice across India and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Greetings to all esteemed seniors, colleagues and members of SOII
A journey that began nearly a decade ago has entered adulthood. Society of Oncologic Imaging was founded in 2018 to address the sub speciality needs within the broad umbrella of radiology. Having been a regular participant in the annual IRIA meetings I soon felt the need for a specialised group to address the intricate issues in Oncology. Our opinion is valued only if it actively contributes to patient management. This is so much more relevant in Oncology where every tumor board meeting or case discussion begins with a display of a CT scan, an MRI or a PET CT and precedes and influences the decision making process.
Dr. Bagyam Raghavan
Past President (SOII)
Greetings to all esteemed seniors, colleagues and members of SOII
Controlling and conquering cancer needs a cohesive multipronged approach of many specialties and focusses on imaging techniques at the cellular and functional level. Imaging forms a vital arm of cancer diagnosis and therapy. The society of Oncoimaging India will be a platform that brings us doctors together to share our experience and learn from each other in order to enhance patient care.

I feel deeply privileged to have been associated with SOII since its early days. I have always believed that Interventional Oncology represents the future of cancer care—where precision, innovation, and compassion converge to transform outcomes. My aspiration has been to make a meaningful difference in this evolving field, and being part of SOII has strengthened that vision. The society fosters collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence in oncoimaging and interventional oncology. I am proud to be part of such a dynamic, forward-thinking community dedicated to shaping the future of oncology.

The Society of Oncoimaging of India stands at a transformative moment. As cancer care becomes increasingly precision-driven, imaging must move beyond diagnosis to become an integral partner in therapy, guidance, and outcomes assessment. The future of SOII lies in building structured national guidelines, standardized training and accreditation pathways, and a comprehensive registry for oncologic imaging and interventions. These pillars will ensure quality, generate meaningful Indian data, and influence national cancer policy. By strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration and embracing innovation — from advanced biomarkers to image-guided therapies — SOII can define the next era of integrated, outcome-focused oncologic care. The opportunity before us is not just to grow as a society, but to lead — and to set the benchmark for cancer imaging and intervention in India.
